A Week in Farm Photos The Countdown to my Book Release Date
I can't believe that my book will hit the shelves on Tuesday! It's been more than a year since I got that fateful email from Paul, the publisher at St. Lynn's Press, (while standing in line at the supermarket no less!) to say that they wanted to publish Fresh Eggs Daily for me. past 13 months has been a whirlwind of writing, editing, and proofreading with Cathy, my amazing editor, who made my words come alive (and made sure all my commas were in the right place!) and Holly, the art director, who laid out and formatted the entire book so beautifully using all my original photos.
past week, I held Fresh Eggs Daily: Raising Happy, Healthy Chickens...Naturally in my hands for the first time! It's impossible to describe the excitement and pride I felt. The idea that now I will be bringing my natural chicken keeping methodology to an even wider audience is just mind-boggling and SO exciting for the future of chicken keeping! The week has been a blur of signing books, organizing a virtual book tour that will begin on Monday, recording a podcast that will air on Tuesday, and conducting interviews with several media outlets as well as getting review copies out to various magazines and others in the industry. Next will come setting up some local book signings....busy for sure, but SO much fun!
A huge thank you to everyone who has pre-ordered a copy; beyond my wildest dreams, those pre-orders have shot my book into the #1 spot in the Bird Care category on Amazon consistently over the last few weeks! (If you haven't ordered a copy yet, the links to purchase appear at the bottom of this post.) So enjoy these photos, taken by myself and my husband, of some of the highlights of our week - the whole 'family' managed to get in on the act and help out - and culminated in shipping out the first batch of signed copies!
